OH NO! Is this my *4th* year on Newgrounds? Do you know how unlucky that is?!

Not unlucky at all! In fact, this fourth year has been fantastic! Well, on Newgrounds anyway. I feel like, for better or worse, I've been more in tune with this site in the past year than ever before. While it distracted me a bit from my first year of college, it gave me a chance to apply what I'm learning and even self-teach myself stuff we haven't done yet. I've participated in collaborations for the first time this year, which has been very fun. I enjoyed seeing the final result of the Pass the Page and would love to do it again some time. I'm also excited for the New Smash Grounds collab and hope you all do too.

That being said, I wish I could have done something more for the 30th anniversary. It's a little weird and stressful celebrating my Newgrounds-versary not just on the 4th of July, but two days before NG's birthday. Regardless, it's been great getting to know this community and being able to contribute to the site every once in a while. I appreciate everyone that helps make Newgrounds work on a technical level and everyone that I've interacted with over the years. I'd like to thank all of the people I'm following and thanks to you guys that favorite, react and comment on my stuff, it means a lot. And with that, I'd like to thank all 9 of my current fans:

Hey guys, Mag here. I was kind of in a shlump this May, but I'm finally getting back into the groove of things for June. As I've mentioned previously, I want to get more into animation and collaboration this year, which I've thankfully been able to do through Kokoro's New Smash Grounds collab (which currently has some open spots that need to be filled!)

I also wanted to give a heads up about next month. Around the Newgrounds-versary, my profile's gonna be getting a major overhaul. I've talked a lot about cleaning up my art page for a while, but I really want to put it into action now. However, I won't just delete my old art. Instead, I'll have my own art forum! That way, I can put some "lesser" stuff there and keep the stuff that looks better on my page. I'll explain more when the time comes. Just know that's where some of my art's going.

With all of the things I have to work on this year, I've put off all of my major comic projects. Hopefully I'll still release little things here and there, but no new series will be coming out in the near future.

Hey gang, Mag here. It's been a bit, so I figure I'd take some time to say I'm still alive. Barely. I don't know how, but I've made it from New Years to Spring Break. I've come behind on my plans, but all in the name of university. Since last year was a lot, I've decided to take it a bit easier for 2025. In fact, I give myself a break for my birthday rather than stress about a special project for it. Granted, that means I overshot sending this on my birthday by two weeks, but some new stuff came up I wanted to shoehorn in.

While I haven't been posting too much, I've still been somewhat active on here, tidying up my page. I've also been (slowly) working on stuff in the background. One of my favorite announcements is that I'm finally putting Obscurity through the comic grinder! (v favorite panel so far v)

For a while now, I've been trying to put Obscurity to page (finally). This isn't a story based on the book (yet), but rather a one-shot to introduce the character to the masses. I'm planning for this to be my entry to the Jump contest here on Newgrounds. I had a little trouble figuring out what to do, but I was finally able to make a story I could tolerate to draw.

Unfortunately, I've had to put it on hold as this isn't the only thing I'm working on right now. Aside from another Ultralius extra (which may have to be my Jump submission depending on my workload), I've been thinking about something else. For the past few months, I've been considering where I want to go on Newgrounds. And you know what?

I wanna start animating! Like, for real. I feel that it's time to animate for Newgrounds, and the opportunity was given to me in the form of the DS collab! I couldn't do it, though, I had too much school work and not enough knowledge in Krita to do so. Hopefully next DS collab. Instead, I'm (trying really hard in) taking part in the TOO MUCH jam. I figure this'll give me a good base for my animation work.

I wish I could say the GIF up above is part of my submission, but that's only half true. I'm still getting used to Krita's animation stuff, so the original file I was working on got a little too big and complicated for my decade-old laptop. So, last night, I started another submission. I was able to draft it real quick, so it shouldn't be the hardest thing in the world. I can make an animation in... 3-ish days, right? (so much for taking it easy...)

But yeah. In the near future, expect animation (and hopefully a couple comics) from me. I can't wait to show you guys what I can do (on four hours of sleep). Can't wait to see you guys then and thanks for stopping by.

2024 has been pretty hectic for me. My life's changed drastically, and it's been a rough transition period, personally and creatively.

With the mix of university and mental struggles, I've found it hard to put work into my passion projects. Even though university has given me a few useful artistic and management skills, I've received major burnout from it. For a whole semester, I've had to push my skills to the point that I couldn't work on anything for myself.

While I'm a bit disappointed with what I've managed to release this year, I feel like I've done something more important: I improved. Behind the scenes, I've been practicing with my artistic styles and learning new techniques. Using the tablet I got this year, I've been able to make great leaps in digital art and my workflow. It's just been kinda slow with everything going on.

And you know what? No new release dates. Instead, I'll just announce new stuff when I feel like they're ready. I've realized that I should be taking time with my projects and I'm tired of putting extra pressure on myself with major expectations. Therefore, my New Years resolution is to tell you when my garbage releases when I know it can be released on time.

Basically, I want to give no promises and no demands, because love's a battlefield. With this next semester, my schedule should allow me to focus more on my work, but I still want to go at a pace that allows me to function. I want 2025 to show the fruits of this years labor and give a bit less strain on my creative side.

That pretty much wraps it up. I just want to thank you guys that have stuck with me this long and hope you keep checking in once in a while. Hope you've had some happy holidays and may you have a happy New Year. Bon chance and until next time...

I'm not sure how I should word this, so I'll keep it simple: I've been feeling like shit. For most of the year, I've been struggling through a major transition period with my first semester of university in late August and battling all of my mental funk, which has been preventing me from doing a lot of things like art and events. However, I've still been on the sidelines of Newgrounds in that time for voting, watching stuff, the odd comment, and trying to make my page "approchable." Regardless of scout status, I want to ensure that my work is displayed in a way that makes it look like I know what I'm doing.

Now that I'm "back" from my hiatus, I bring some important project updates!

A while ago, I mentioned I'm working on a re-release of Ultralius! That means I'm redoing all 170 pages of the first volume in a more cohesive and consistent style than whatever the hell I was doing before. This one will be all digital, with a new way of coloring to give it that manga-style I intended it to have. Currently, I only have one page of Chapter One finished, but once I get that finished (which I hope is soon), then I can easily release Chapter Two (it was much easier to make). Below is a preview of an original page verses a new one.

Next, I would like to mention that my hit book Obscurity is getting a re-vamp as well! As I've grown as a writer, I've taken into account some notes I've gathered from reading it for over 3 years now! In fact, the 19th was the 2nd anniversary of the book! I was hoping to have the revamp finished by then, but I have my excuses (as mentioned above).

Finally, I feel like I should have a place for all of this stuff, a place that's my own. While I love Newgrounds, I don't feel like it always works for what I want. Trying to release all of that on here, including my books, would be difficult to do and also clog up my workspace (plus, I would need Supporter status for later Ult chapters). With a little help, I've been trying to make a website on Neocities! While I don't know the most about how it works, having my own website would help with releasing my projects in bulk. This is something I've been thinking about for a while, and I think it's finally time to do it!

At this point, I hate giving myself deadlines, but I want to try and get some of this stuff ready and rolling by the end of the month. Because of all this, my other projects have been shelved and probably won't be back until next year. I figure if I can get these things out of the way first, then it'll be easier to do other things in the future. (Plus, I need a little breathing room, getting a bit stuffy in here.)

Lastly, I just want to thank everyone who's tolerated my "workflow." To all seven of my direct fans, I thank you for sticking around as long as you have. I hope this explains my extreme absence and gives you a reason to stay. I know this is a lot, but I wanted to make up for my half a year silence. I can't wait for you guys to see what I have in store and hope you've been alright since I've been gone.

TL;DR: I died, but I lived and I brought some cool stuff back with me!

Well, this was a rather disappointing week. About halfway through, I got really tired, mentally and physically, and decided to just take things slow. However, that won't stop me from announcing a few things I forgot about.

First of all, Ultralius Volume 1 is finally finished! Chapter 10 concludes a 2-year quest to get the first volume finished. 10 chapters, 170 pages, done significantly later than I would have liked, but done none the less. You can read all of that on either Tapas or Webtoon. That does mean, however, I am working on Volume 2! With my new drawing tablet, I'm hoping to get this one done a bit faster than the first one. The whole thing's been scripted since Autumn '23 and I just finished planning Chapter 11 within the week. I planned on releasing it today, but obviously couldn't with everything going on. I do hope to get it done around the end of the month.

I meant to announce it earlier, but Obscurity Love Life has started posting again, with the 8th Tapas chapter releasing last weekend. I'm hoping to do a chapter a week, so feel free to check back up on the series. I'll probably wait until after it's finished to announce the chapters just for simplicity. I'm hoping to be finished around April-ish. And, against my better judgement, I feel I should mention I'm also writing the third book as well! Like Ult chapter 10, I was hoping to get this done for the holidays, but oh well. I just want to get it over with. Assuming all goes well for once, I plan on having a similar schedule to Love Life, wrapping up around the early summer time. Now, I probably shouldn't say this, but I'm also trying to bring Obscurity back into the comic scene. I haven't done a comic for it in two years, but I want to try again! Whether I release it or not is TBD, but I want to at least try again. Hopefully this'll get me back into drawing the cast again.

To wrap things up, I want to bring up another novel I'm working on. If you've seen my new banner, there's a story on there called "Hayx." It's about a girl who's a little... above average. For now, that's all I'll give, but I'll probably put character art out soon enough. The goal is to have it finished at the end of April/beginning of May, around my mom's birthday.

And that's about it. The hard life of an artist, amirite? I was hoping to have more art by now to spice this up, but oh well. I'll crank something out by the end of the week. Like the banner. I should really be finished with the banner soon... promise. Welp, here's to the 2nd-ish anniversary of Obscurity and Ultralius.

Lemme just start by saying; this year's been a roller coaster. As someone who doesn't like roller coasters, it's been terrifying. It's been stressful, my stomach's been churning (no, literally.) It has not been fun. It's only the beginning of March and it's already been one of the most complicated years of my life. And to top it all off, today, the 5th of March, is my birthday. It doesn't quite feel like it yet, but this birthday signals the end of an era for me. It was just a few years ago that Covid hit around this time and caused a turn for the worse. However, thanks to new friends and this whole Newgrounds thing, I've been able to bounce back from it, if only a little bit. Thanks for supporting me.

Anyway, now that that's out of the way, I want to talk about something I wanna call "Creation Week." This is something that I want to start from my birthday on the 5th to the 12th, the anniversary of Obscurity/Ultraius. Every day, I plan on releasing something related to my projects, whether that be chapters of stuff, cool art, or announcements on new projects I'm working on. I'm hoping to stick to the script for once, but knowing me it might change. Just expect something new every day this week.

For example, Ultralius Chapter 10! I know it's crazy, but it should be out sometime today or tomorrow. You can find the chapter here or through my links. It's been a long long time coming, but it's finally here. I'll say this, I think I did alright on this chapter. It's themed more towards the Christmas season, but it's out here, ties shit up and I can finally be done. I hope you can enjoy it.

First off, happy new year everybody! Hope this January has been treating you well. It's been a while, I know, but this announcement will have a buncha shit in it. A bunch of important shit. Like the fact that I recently got a drawing tablet with a screen! Anyway...

Ultralius Chapter 10. Fuck, this is taking way too long. I wish it could have come out during Christmas like it should have for two years, but oh well. I was busy in the real world with Christmas and visits and whatnot. HOWEVER, I want to make it known that I'm actively trying to finish this up before the end of the month. In fact, to prove I'm working on it, here's a little preview down below! Like my post last year mentioned, feel free to catch up on Tapas or Webtoon if you haven't already.

Next, I would like to mention that I'll be continuing Obscurity Love Life sometime in February. I'll hopefully have the book finished by the end of March this year. In the meantime, I'll probably publish a few pieces to the anthology. You can also read what's already released of the second book on Tapas!

I would also like to mention I'm working on another book project! This one will be a bit different to what I usually write, but I hope you guys will like it. More will be announced closer to the release date, which is estimated to be some time in late April or early May.

As for art projects, I wanted to bring back an old thing I did when I first got here; murals. That's right, baby, I'm bringing back the mural project for 2024, a bunch of pieces I make based off of webcomics I like. I'm thinking of releasing them monthly, so be on the lookout for those. I'll be putting them in the same folder as the original ones so I don't have to clutter my page with more folders.

That should be about it for now. Other than a few smaller pieces for the portal, I probably won't be too active on NG (especially with this new 2-step stuff, merde!) Looking forward to finally getting back on track for the new year, despite this post coming out halfway through January. Oh boy, 1/24th of the year already gone, lookit that! Welp, just got off of what I hope was just a really bad cold I've had since Sunday. While crumpled on the couch, I tried to think through migraines. 'Shit. I'm really not gonna be able to get Obs finished by the end of the month... And I only have half of Ult 10 finished... AND I got more stuff to do... blegh.' Now that the agonizing sickness is finally leaving, I've formed a realistic(-ish) plan for once! I have a list of things to do, and the rest of the month to do some of them.

First of all, Obscurity Love Life is being shelved for now. It's not canceled, just on hold. Currently, half of the book is written, but I won't be able to finish it by the end of the year. I'm gonna try to take my time with it and better organize my thoughts. I plan to resume releasing chapters sometime in March 2024, but the first chunk of the book can be read here on Tapas.

Second is Ultralius. With all of the stuff I have to finish this week, I won't be able to work on it for a while. However, it was supposed to be released this time last year, so it loops around! With my schedule, the 10th chapter should be released around Christmas, but feel free to catch up on Tapas or Webtoon beforehand.

Miscellaneous! This week, I'll be working on a Secret Santa. ALSO, the Sweet Sixteen! Again, sick, no work, but I've planned it all out and think I can get it done by the deadline. Currently aiming for the 9th, but we'll have to see what gets in the way next. Finally, I'm hoping to get a few "smaller" pieces finished during December so I can beef up my art gallery (and who knows, maybe get scouted again.)

And that should be all that I got so far. I think the only other announcements I should have this year are to announce Chapter 10, a merry Christmas and maybe something for the Sweet Sixteen. In related news, I changed the rating of Chapter 6 to everyone. After reviewing it, I figured it's no worse than the others I've already posted. Hope that helps. I also wanted to bring up my schedule for the rest of the month. Since I haven't released much for a while, I figured I'd work a little harder on my already busy schedule.

FIRSTLY, Obscurity Love Life. The plan is to release the rest of the book THIS WEDNESDAY. What's released is a little less than half of the book, with about 20 chapters planned in total. If I can't make the Wednesday, which is more than likely, then I still got this weekend. SECONDLY, Ultralius Chapter 10. The goal is to have it released by the end of November. This is a surefire date so that I can improve the momentum of releases.

There's more that I have to work on and iron out the details of, but these are the big things I want to bring up. I still have things like the Sweet-16 comic contest that I've barely started alongside real life, but I'm hoping I can organize it all to get everything done on time-ish.
